Hi, I’m Evrim! I am a Turkish and Belgian dual-citizen, but I was born and raised in Turkey. I moved to the Netherlands right after I turned 18 to pursue my studies in economics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
After completing my bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business, I went on to do a master’s in Quantitative Finance. In the meantime, I acted first as the secretary and then the editor-in-chief of the student magazine of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UvA, Rostra Economica. It’s been student-run for more than 65 years, and it isn’t stopping anytime soon.
During my master’s year, I started working at CCOUNT where I started off as an intern. Completing both of these degrees in 4 years, I stayed at CCOUNT instead of going to the Big 4 (as you’re expected to when you get a master’s in finance from the UvA).
At CCOUNT, I worked with many tech startups from the Netherlands, helping them with bookkeeping, tax compliance, valuations, and more. I also kicked off the firm’s automation efforts by founding asm33. This gave us a first-hand view of how our clients experienced the entire journey from founding to exit—and the struggles and joys of running a small tech startup. For me, it was a chance to put my skills to use and improve many of the processes that a bookkeeping and tax advisory firm handles every day. I developed several products for the Xero ecosystem which became popular in the niche European accounting community, and continued working with the CCOUNT team until 2025.
Since November 2025, I have worked as a Data Analyst (Pricing) at Vattenfall Nederland, where I work on pricing infrastructure for the B2B portfolio.
In my free time, I develop video games. I am currently working on Compound Interest (blog), following Maginet (blog), Critter Showdown, DJAL, and electrobillion (blog).
